Katie’s cart is a tangible way to provide direct emotional and practical support to children while they are actively receiving care in the hospital. Katie received care for years at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The items purchased for Katie’s Cart benefit the children receiving care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Amanda (Katie’s mom) and Aunt Candice both work at VCU and are able to hand deliver the items.

As of mid-November 2024, 783 items had been purchased to benefit Katie’s Cart. Thank you so much for your unwavering dedication to continuing Katie’s legacy.

  • "I just had to message you and you let you know the fun our [patient] had with toys from Katie's Cart. The stuffed dog barked and played with the stuffed unicorn and Barbie...the imagination of a 3 year old. Made us laugh today. Thanks!"

  • "Courage for Katie's mom [our own Amanda!] was one of the people who made [him] comfortable, loved on him, played with him, held his hand through really hard things."
